Traditional Bathroom Renovation – Old Town, Edinburgh .
Nestled in the heart of Old Town, Edinburgh, this traditional bathroom renovation rejuvenated a cramped Victorian-era space into a refined sanctuary. The existing bathroom featured outdated sanitary ware, worn tiles, and inadequate lighting. Our mission: to craft a period-appropriate bathroom that honours its historic surroundings while delivering modern plumbing, electrical, gas and bespoke joinery services in a turnkey bathroom refurbishment package.
We began by stripping out all fixtures and tiles, then installed a comprehensive waterproofing membrane to guard against damp. Our skilled plumbing team reconfigured pipework to accommodate a classic ball‑and‑claw freestanding bath alongside a shower cubicle and high-level cistern WC. Matching shelving in custom joinery were designed to echo traditional Georgian style. Our Gas Safe engineers connected a new heated towel rail to the existing boiler. Simultaneously, electricians updated the space with polished nickel LED downlights, and a discrete extractor fan wired to a dedicated circuit. All trades coordinated to ensure period décor—such as heritage-style panelling and tasteful wallpaper—blended seamlessly with underfloor heating and contemporary comforts.
This complete bathroom refurbishment in Old Town offers the perfect marriage of historic charm and contemporary utility. The client now enjoys a beautifully coherent space featuring classic sanitary ware, handmade joinery, refined lighting, and upgraded gas and plumbing systems—designed with sensitivity for the property’s character and the vibrant urban surroundings.
