Traditional Bathroom Renovation – New Town Edinburgh .
Situated in the elegant Georgian streets of New Town, Edinburgh, this project revitalised a period bathroom into a stylish yet functional space. The original layout featured outdated fixtures, cramped dimensions, and poor illumination. To thoughtfully upgrade the room, retaining its historic charm while seamlessly integrating expert plumbing, gas, electrics, and bespoke joinery.
First, the existing sanitaryware and tiling were fully removed. We installed a robust waterproofing membrane to safeguard the walls and floor. Plumbing enhancements included repositioning the shower and bath valves, installing a new bath mixer, and adding a designer heated towel rail connected to the central boiler. Our Gas Safe-certified engineers ensured all gas-related adjustments adhered to current regulations. Electrical upgrades by our NICEIC-registered team introduced recessed LED downlights, ambient mirror lighting, and a quiet extractor fan—all on dedicated circuits for optimal safety. Custom joinery featured a traditional vanity with wood panelling, painted to suit the Georgian aesthetic, and integrated shelving to discreetly store essentials. Every element was chosen to blend modern convenience with New Town’s architectural dignity.
The result is a beautifully coherent bathroom that respects the rich character of Edinburgh’s UNESCO-listed New Town, while delivering contemporary comfort. Elegant fixtures, warm lighting, and thoughtful storage elevate the space. The client now enjoys a bathroom that honours heritage and functions flawlessly—hallmarks of our full-service bathroom refurbishment.
