Shower Conversion from Bathroom – Corstorphine, Edinburgh .
Project Overview
In a traditional semi-detached home on Corstorphine Road, the family wanted to swap their underused bathtub for a spacious walk-in shower to suit modern household needs. We removed the old tub, tiling, fixtures, and outdated pipework to create a bright, airy shower space perfect for everyday use and future-proofed for convenience.
Our Approach
We carefully stripped everything down to the subfloor and walls, then applied a premium waterproof membrane to protect against leaks. A sloped floor tray was installed to direct water flow naturally, while upgraded plumbing supported a dual-head shower system featuring both rainfall and handheld options. Certified Gas Safe engineers swapped in a contemporary heated towel rail linked to the boiler. Our electrical team added soft recessed LEDs and a humidity-sensitive extractor fan wired on a dedicated circuit to manage moisture. Finishes include chic, large-format matte porcelain tiles and a clean glass panel for an open, minimalist look. A custom wall-hung vanity with hidden storage finished the space, merging seamless style with practicality.
