Project Overview

Nestled in a stylish block on West Mayfield, this dual bathroom suite was reimagined to maximise space and luxury within a compact footprint. The homeowner wished for two distinct zones—a refined shower room for guests and an elegant wet-room attached to the master suite—creating a sense of spaciousness without sacrificing sophistication. We removed the original dated fixtures and non-functional layout to open up the area and reinvent the flow.

Our Approach

We began by clearing out all old fittings, tiles, pipe routing, and electrical circuits to start from scratch. Both zones were waterproofed with top-tier membrane systems, and the wet-room now features a subtly graded floor allowing effortless drainage. In the shower room, we installed a frameless glass enclosure, and thermostatic rain shower. The adjoining wet-room received an overhead rain shower and handheld mixer, alongside a recessed towel radiator connected to the gas boiler.

Electrical work was thoughtfully executed: recessed wall and ceiling LEDs in both spaces create a soft, ambient glow, while motion-sensor extractor fans help regulate humidity. For joinery, we crafted moisture-resistant  vanities and integrated recessed shelving—blending storage with minimal visual clutter. Large-format stone-look porcelain tiles complete both areas, offering durability and a cohesive aesthetic.

This West Mayfield combo remodel exemplifies how compact city bathrooms can feel luxurious and practical. Carefully orchestrated trades—plumbing, gaswork, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, and bespoke joinery—delivered two distinct yet harmonious zones. The results: a guest shower and master wet-room that elevate the home’s comfort and style, tailored perfectly for modern Edinburgh living.
