Luxury Walk-In Shower – Ettrick Road, Edinburgh .
Project Overview
Located on Ettrick Road in a serene residential pocket of Edinburgh, this walk-in shower installation elevated a drab, semi-enclosed en-suite into a light-filled, hotel-inspired space. The homeowners sought a functional yet luxurious wet-area that would serve both form and function, complemented by high-end plumbing, electrics underfloor heating,—all within a contemporary urban setting.
Our Approach
We began with a thorough removal of dated fixtures, cabinetry, and worn tiles to fully expose the structural base. A premium walk-in shower tray equipped with a hidden gradient and waterproof membrane was installed for flawless drainage. Underfloor heating was introduced beneath warmed stone-effect porcelain tiles to ensure comfort underfoot. Plumbing enhancements included a rain-and-hand shower system with an anti-scald mixer valve, along with a sleek towel warmer discreetly connected to the gas boiler via Gas Safe-certified engineers. Electrically, our team installed soft, dimmable LED ceiling panels and a humidity-sensing extractor on a dedicated circuit. The joinery featured a wall-mounted moisture-resistant vanity and a recessed niche framed by backlit shelving—ideal for showcasing designer toiletries.
