Contemporary Shower Room & Wet Room in Apartment – West Mayfield, Edinburgh .
Project Overview
Situated in a stylish apartment in West Mayfield, this project reimagined two compact wet areas—the main shower room and an additional en-suite—into a cohesive, high-end space. The original installations were basic, lacklustre, and poorly lit. Our ambition was to craft a deluxe, fully waterproof wet room environment featuring top-tier plumbing, electrical, gas, and custom joinery—optimised for urban living in Edinburgh.
Our Solutions
We initiated a comprehensive demolition of obsolete tiles, fittings, and outdated pipework. A robust waterproof membrane was applied across all wet zones, followed by underfloor heating in the main shower area. In the main wet room, plumbing enhancements included installing a thermostatic rain shower and bespoke handheld unit, repositioning valves, and adding a designer towel radiator connected to the gas boiler via our Gas Safe engineers. Our electrical team rewired both zones with recessed LED downlights, integrated illuminated mirrors, and silent extractor fans on their own circuits. Custom joinery consisted of fitted waterproof vanities with hidden drawer storage and recessed tiled niches. The finishing touch: large-format stone-effect porcelain tiles and frameless glass screens, providing a seamless and airy feel that complements the apartment’s architecture.

This renovation transformed two ordinary bathrooms into one integrated, luxurious wet room suite in West Mayfield. With carefully coordinated plumbing, gas, electrics, and joinery work, the client now enjoys a premium, contemporary space that feels spacious and elegant—perfect for modern Edinburgh living.
