Project Overview
This contemporary shower room makeover on Easter Road, in the vibrant Leith district of Edinburgh, transformed a dated and compact space into a bright, efficient bathroom. The original layout included a narrow shower cubicle, vinyl flooring, and insufficient lighting. The client tasked us with delivering a full bathroom renovation—including plumbing, electrics, gas connections, and bespoke joinery—to fit modern urban living while reflecting local style.
Our Solutions
We began with a complete strip-out, removing old tiles, fixtures, and redundant pipework. A full waterproof tanking layer was installed on walls and floors to ensure long-term durability. Plumbing upgrades included repositioning the shower valve and installing a thermostatic mixer for precise temperature control. A gas-safe engineer integrated a heated towel radiator with the existing boiler. Our NICEIC-certified electricians installed recessed LED ceiling lights, mirror-mounted LED strips, and a whisper-quiet extractor on its own circuit to manage moisture effectively. Custom joinery included a fitted waterproof vanity unit with soft-close drawers and a recessed niche providing discreet storage. The space was completed with contemporary porcelain wall and floor tiles, and a frameless glass shower screen to visually enlarge the room and align with the Leith aesthetic.
